Transparency in Every Part Of Our Organization

Our methodology of using each fact checker, app, and organization into a unified rating system is detailed here.

In the spirit of financial transparency, Identifact is willing to disclose all funding sources to the IFCN at Poynter and to the Identifact Review Board, upon request.

Our sources of funding include:

  • The owner, Larry Piegza, who will provide personal tax filing records to the IFCN at Poynter and to the Identifact Review Board, upon request.

  • Gap Technologies, Inc. Gap provides the SmartEvals.com service to colleges and universities. Gap Technologies, Inc. receives income from colleges and universities only, and is willing to provide certification of its income sources, as stated above.

  • Donations made through the Identifact website

  • Civic Activists and Reporters, who pay a $50 membership fee to contribute credibility ratings to Identifact.

  • News Organizations, who pay a $1000 organizational membership fee that includes 50 accounts for reporter use. Any monetary contributions made by news organizations will in no way affect credibility ratings for their organization or staff
